FULL OF FRESHNESS

Fruit is such a fundamental word that underpins not only who we are as people, but echoes through all our languages and cultures. We talk of the ‘fruits of success’, or the ‘fruit of our labours’ or dreams coming ‘into fruition’. Fruit is the essential sweetness that makes our lives worth living. It would be a hard world, indeed, to imagine without it.

Fruitco covers the world with our selection and depth of range in our premium quality fruit products, whether they come from the farthest, most distant places—or just down the road.

FRUITS

APPLES

“AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS
THE DOCTOR AWAY.”

It wasn’t so long ago that apples, the most popular fruit in the world, were only available for a few months in the year, and were limited to only a handful of varieties. Today we have an abundance of riches, with over 7,500 different kinds of apple available: the Pink Lady, Pacific Rose, Cox’s Orange Pippin, Fuji, Braeburn, Red and Golden Delicious, Gala, and, the Granny Smith, the most popular of these.

Nonetheless, we can source even the more unusual strains, such as the Russet or the Calville Blanc D’Hiver, which dates back to the 1500’s. From the very sweetest dessert apple to the tartest cooking apple, we offer a range of scents, textures and tastes that will thrill the palate of the most discerning consumer.

AVOCADOS

“ASTONISHING RANGE OF TASTES,
COLORS AND TEXTURES”

With over seventy varieties available in Australia alone, we also source avocadoes from Mexico, Chile, Kenya, and the USA, amongst others. The range of tastes, colours and textures is astonishing: the mildness of the Choquette, the smooth butteriness of the Hass, the deliciously creamy Macarthur, the glistening black Mexicola Grande, and the surprising sweetness of the Lulu, are just a few of the culinary delights that await your customers. Whether eaten sweet or savoury, our avocadoes are premium quality and sure to please the most demanding of tastes.

BANANAS

“SWEET, SENSUOUS AND DELICIOUS”

The last banana that was eaten was probably a Cavendish. Accounting for over 90% of the world banana market, these yellow dessert bananas are universal.

Sweet, sensuous and delicious, they are the fourth largest food crop in the world, and are always at home on the dining table. But the Cavendish, these days grown mainly in the Philippines, while popular, is only one of the many varieties Fresh Fruits offers. Manzanos, with the subtlest hints of strawberries and apples, offer a unique sweetness. Consider Red bananas, from India the Kerala banana with its unique sweet firmness that sets it apart. Add to this the ‘Ice Cream’ banana with its faintly blue skin and gorgeous creamy texture and the Burro banana from Central America with its square shape and zesty lemon flavour and you have some idea of this wonderful fruit’s variety. But bananas are not just for dessert. We also offer a range of plantains such as the Sri Lankan green banana or the Guinea Verde, which is a yellow Cavendish cooked as a starchy food. Whatever your customers desire, Fresh Fruits offers a range of quality bananas to satisfy all preferences.

The delicious key lime from India – the essential ingredient in key lime pie; fragrant kumquats from Thailand and Malaysia; the bitter bergamot orange from China that is the essence of Earl Grey tea; satsumas and tangerines whose evocative sweetness add that special ingredient to festive occasions.
